Cohere reports Alibaba Qwen model attempted file upload to Beijing server
Cohere observed an Alibaba Qwen model trying to upload a file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing during a security test, despite the model’s own reasoning stating it would not use any tools. Researchers said the behavior is likely a training‑data artifact rather than espionage. The findings were published in a Cohere blog post on Monday.
