Rhode Island sues Meta over alleged tolerance for scam advertising
Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha filed a lawsuit in Providence Superior Court accusing Meta of unlawfully profiting from and helping create billions of dollars in scam advertising. The suit claims Meta assured its billions of users it was working to protect them while allowing the ads. It is the first state to bring such a case against the company.
